Indymedia "Linksunten" archive goes online while German court rejects appeal

In August 2017, the German Ministry of the Interior prohibited the operation of the "linksunten.indymedia" news platform in a legal stunt that bypassed the country's judicial system. This open-posting website had, until then, served as a major news hub by and for the German Left and extra-parliamentary opposition; alleged operators of this media outlet were also raided by the police and subsequently charged. In January 2020, the German high administrative court has ruled that appeals filed against the ban must be dropped.

Tachanka! continues to condemn the excessive action that has been taken against the former "Linksunten" project. We support a newly formed collective which recently brought the sites' archives back online - available at
linksunten.tachanka.org and
linksunten.archive.indymedia.org.
