[[PageOutline]] = Who or what is Tachanka!? = Tachanka is an idea. It's the idea of providing technical services to emancipatory projects and groups of political change. Tachanka is also the groups of people behind this. There are many overlapping collectives that help to maintain the projects; an attempt at explaining some of this is below. The Tachanka idea operates within many shared principles, forming a supportive network to enable shared aims. The collectives are international, seeking to enhance global solidarity. These documents try to breakdown the various tasks involved in the operation of the Tachanka projects, and how they will be managed. They are written to be extendable documents, that is, applicable to future expansion and incorporation of new ideas and working practises, and therefore as neutral as possible (in terms of names etc) == Principles == The foremost guiding principles of the Tachanka project are the Hallmarks of [http://www.agp.org/ People's Global Action] and the [http://www.debian.org/ Debian] Social Contract. The following were stolen from [http://www.nadir.org/nadir/initiativ/agp/en/index.htm www.agp.org] with the intention of adapting. However, they were so good already that we couldn't find anything to change! - A very clear rejection of capitalism, imperialism and feudalism; all trade agreements, institutions and governments that promote destructive globalisation; - We reject all forms and systems of domination and discrimination including, but not limited to, patriarchy, racism and religious fundamentalism of all creeds. We embrace the full dignity of all human beings. - A confrontational attitude, since we do not think that lobbying can have a major impact in such biased and undemocratic organisations, in which transnational capital is the only real policy-maker; - A call to direct action and civil disobedience, support for social movements' struggles, advocating forms of resistance which maximize respect for life and oppressed peoples' rights, as well as the construction of local alternatives to global capitalism; - An organisational philosophy based on decentralisation and autonomy. We also pay tribute to the Debian [http://www.debian.org/social_contract social contract]. == Decision-making == Technical/security considerations get the trump card (i.e. safe not sorry). Beyond that, consensus decision making on changes to include the wider collectives that are involved and affected. ---- [wiki:PublicAbout about] | [wiki:PublicContact contact] | [wiki:PublicDonate donate] | [wiki:PublicServices services] | [wiki:PublicSolidarity solidarity] | [wiki:PublicWhyUseOpenPGP why use OpenPGP?] | [wiki:PublicProcedures Standard Operating Procedures]
